SKILL : Combat.Weapons

Basics

You cannot train your 'weapons' skill specifically, but there are many
subcategories that you should focus on.

Bare hands : When you're not wielding a weapon

  Axe : Axes
   - Two-handed : Two-handed axes
  Bow : bow, crossbow
Dagger : Daggers, knives, stilletos, etc
Exotic : Claws, whips, glove-like weapons, talons, other weird things...
  Gun : Guns, phasers, etc
Mace : Mace, club, morning star, hammer, etc
Polearm : Staff, spear, halberd, pike, trident, etc
  Sword : Swords
   - Two-handed : Two-handed swords

Training in a specific weapon skill will increase the damage done
with that weapon type as well as reduce the rate that a weapon
  degrades over time.

Once a weapon skill is trained to maximum, the following subskills
  become available: physical, other

  Physical - Slashing/Poking and Crushing
Other - Flame, Ice, Acid, Electricty, Mind, Energy, Poison, Radiation

For two-handed swords and two-handed axes, they get a damage bonus
from the primary skill (axe, sword) but only get subskill bonuses
from their own subskills, not from the axe & sword damage type subskills.

Training in a specific weapon subtype will increase the damage done
of those types if your wielded weapon is normally capable of doing
that type of damage. This could lead to double bonuses if you had
a weapon that did physical and other.
