3K has a special class of items and equipment in the realms called binding equipment. There are two types of binding : Bind on Equip (BOE) and Bind on Pickup (BOP). Items that bind on equip do not bind until they are worn or wielded. Items that bind on pickup are bound the moment they are taken off the ground. Oftentimes there is no warning before an item binds to you, so pay attention, but most items will state their binding type in its description when examined. Once an item is bound to you, it is bound for an entire reboot and will be unusable by others. All bound items can be taken to the gypsy when they are no longer of use - Mr. Mistoffoles offers a substantial reward.
